Denture Types We Offer

At Nelson Bay Dental, we offer the following types of dentures for our clients:

Full Dentures: These are implemented if most or all of your teeth are missing. In addition to looking just like real teeth, our full dentures will also allow you to eat with a greater degree of comfort and help prevent your face from acquiring a sunken appearance.

Partial Dentures: As the name suggests, partial dentures are designed to replace only several teeth. In addition to having aesthetic benefits, partial dentures are useful for providing support to neighbouring teeth – ensuring they don’t shift out of place. By filling gaps in your teeth with partial dentures, you can also minimise the risk of disease-causing bacteria that can accrue in these spaces. Acrylic, chrome and flexible partial dentures are available. 

Immediate Dentures: These are essentially temporary dentures that you will need to wear while your real dentures are being fabricated. They are also implemented to protect the healing process if you have undergone tooth removal. Although immediate dentures will naturally not fit as snuggly as your proper dentures, they will enable you to eat and not be without teeth during the healing process. 

Implant Retained Dentures: Unlike traditional dentures that can be easily be removed, implant retained dentures are secured in place with the assistance of dental implants. In addition to being extremely comfortable, implant retained dentures won’t cause the irritable pressure points and sore spots that frequently result from loose traditional dentures.
